Spring Momentum

With our Millennium Park location set to open May 1st, and our new second location at the beautifully constructed Canadian Canoe Museum set to open for business on May 13, Grand Opening on May 31st, we are in the midst of hiring new staff to join our existing team.

If the busy cafe environment sounds appealing, you have interest in the food service and tourism industries; you have experience or training as a server, barista or cook; have your Safe Food Handlers and even your Smart Serve; and can recognize the value of working as a team-member; then March is your month to submit your application (resume and cover letter) to silverbeancafe@gmail.com. Preference given to those with availability as of May into at least the fall.

Seasons

And just like that, our 20th season is coming to a close as of Oct 15th. Thanks for making the beautiful patio even more beautiful! And a huge shout out to our hard working staff, 30 in total, who make the Bean possible.

While this location enters hibernation, stay tuned for our official soft opening date in early spring of our 2nd location at The Canadian Canoe Museum! The grand opening is set for May 12, 2023. We’ll be open a month or 2 before before to get to know the space and work out all the kinks. Looking forward to offering Bean hospitality on 2 waterfronts in Peterborough-Nogojiwanong!

Much love, The Bean Team

2023. Our 20th Season!

As of May 1st we jump into patio season once again! Cue the outdoor meals with friends, the early morning breakfast by the water, the catch a cone after a paddle, the bringing out-of-town friends down to the waterfront, the enjoyment of Millennium park festivals and events. We have our fantastic seasoned staff returning and a few new staff ready to compliment the team; classic menu and new menu offerings; expected and returning festivals and new community events and ideas.

This is a big year for us in celebrating where we come starting in 2003. The original owner, and good friend, Andrea Vanderherberg saw something in this little boathouse by the water and built a positive reputation and community heartbeat out of a little cafe with its fresh food and drink. Big kudos to Andrea and Michael for the quality, community-minded foundation they laid.

Now looking ahead to fresh opportunities of 2023. Location #2 at the newly built Canadian Canoe Museum will be launched this fall! Expect a similar Bean vibe with some new and location specific food and drink offerings. Again, we will be situated in a park, on the main path, by beautiful waterfront, in the middle of community life: all fantastic ingredients.

As we celebrate where we come from and look ahead to new chapters, we have you to thank. Through all of the seasons, your presence, support and patronage have made us possible. Together we are better. Cheers to 20!
